Christmas light displays are one of the showiest ways to add a dash of festive glamour to an outdoor lawn. Animated christmas trains are less likely to be seen on any one's front yard. They are a more eclectic decorative xmas item and the lighted displays themselves can be quite difficult to find. However christmas trains are a potent symbol of christmas given their rich history since the 1900s when the Lionel company invented simple electronic versions to run around the base of a christmas tree.

You set up animated christmas trees in the same manner that you would any other kind of animated christmas tree - on your front lawn, affixed to your garage door or the siding of your house or even on your roof. A brief search on the Internet turned up all kinds of interesting lighting displays of including the Candy Cane, Rocking Horse and Little Drummer Boy themed christmas trains.

Keep in mind that setting up a large display of animated christmas trains is not for the technically feeble. Most of these displays have very large armatures that must be propped up vertically or attached to the side of your house and many contain as many as 500 mini lights!
